BACKLASH HELP! Please

Postby tyler_72us » Fri Apr 29, 2016 8:52 pm

So my brother-in-law gave me a M3D printer, which is cool. The problem is the backlash setting is off and I cannot for the life of me get it fixed. I followed the M3D support's instructions for fixing the issue but they are worthless (just keep printing this figure and guessing until it "looks" right, or the "print this then guess what part is roundest and used that measurement"). I bought a Machinist dial to try and help me but i still cannot get this thing to work (granted i had no experience using a machinist dial before so there was a learning curve). Can anyone PLEASE help me? I have spent half a kilo of filament and 3 months trying to fix this problem. (ok not 3 months solid. I get frustrated and stop using trying for 2-3 weeks.)

I had similar issues and this is how I resolved it. The cylinder you describe is frustrating. There is a new calibration technique on their website and I was able to calibrate in 3 tries.
Go to this site: https://printm3d.com/solutions/article.php?id=80

Download the pdf and the stl file. Should help!
