Advertised Micro3D print area a fraud?

Postby deckard » Tue Jul 25, 2017 10:05 pm

Hello,

I was always wondering in the past why so many models do not fit on the M3D printing bed.
At least using the software provided by M3D I am not able to place a square larger part than 103x103 mm designed in SCAD.
But that is a far cry from the promised 109x112 mm we were all supposed to get and that is still announced on the MIcro3D website?

Anyone can confirm that? Or is the software just so bad and it would be possible using another software?

Best regards

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

I can confirm this problem. Believe it comes from M3Ds always-added-raft, plus some space for safety due the lack of endstops.

Cheers,
Michael
